I already talked to you about Le Couvent Des Minimes.
However, I fell for the roses and coming from me it is just like saying that I have decided to be old.
The serum promises to be "regenerating" which basically means replumping. It does the job wonderfully. I have used it only for a week but I truely can feel a difference and it does wonders for my dry patches. The scent is very nice especially for the night time rituals. Two drops do the trick, I tap the product onto my face. My skin still feels even more comfortable when I add up a little jojoba oil as well (around 2 drop for my entire face).
The moisturizing fluid is equally as good as the serum. It is quite a potent day cream but it might be a little too light for a night cream in winter. This obviously, is only the opinion I have upon the subject in regard to my own skin. One pompe for the daytime and two for the night. As I always do, I massage it very well into my skin until it is fully absorbed. Not only is this doing wanders with the action of the product but it also is quite calming and relaxing.
A lot of songs speak to a soft fiber of ourselves.
Tommy Bolin is a singer and guitar player who touch deep into my soul and except for the fact that he looks a lot like my best friend, I cannot say when this love for him started. But this is my song from his repertoire, THE song, enjoy:
Today is about a play and a little project of mine.
every week, from now on, I will give you a review of something I did in my lovely city of Paris.
It will be culture related and I wish it doesn't come as a surprise to you that I am extremely excited about that project. I used to be an ardent reader, a lover of theater and cinema and amongst anything, art always made me feel.
You will soon realise though that my tastes in plays is for the uplifting, fun and funny gendre.
It might, however, occur that I go and see something different and I feel that is the way one should always be towards culture. We never know anything and unless we try (except for the obvious stupid or immoral things), we cannot have an actual opinion about it.
Now that this little project is out in the open, let's see to this review.
This play is the first one I have been to after a starvation which lasted around 4 years.
I had no idea, I missed it so much. the satisfaction one gets from a play is quite phenomenal.
And I simply picked the one that appealed to me and which was playing right next door:
Ma Belle-Mère, Mon Ex et Moi.
I can see the irony to see such a play right after coming out of a break up but to be honest though I love theatre I do not really put myself in the place of any characters and the story was not even remotely close to home.
This was a very easy storyline and the script, which is quite easy, might be difficult for english or american people. The references to music and things from the 80's and 90's in France might make the play confusing for some people.
Otherwise, go for it!!!!
Both men are brilliant and make the play very funny!
I thought a long time about writing this. Social networks in general are the last place on earth where I would go to talk about my life, truely.
Though I am a fairly happy person and that it is what I want my blog to be;
we cannot always lie and pretend that we are okay.
I am hurt.
Someone I trusted turned my life into a joke and maid me feel small, insignificant, so easily replaceable and alone. The only thing I can say is that I let myself be broken, I let that person hurt me. I am the only architect of my current misery.
I wish I were stronger but I am not.
To quote one of my favourite directors, there is only one thing you can do in those cases:
"You have five minutes to wallow in the delicious misery: enjoy it, embrace it, discard it... and proceed."
When you are to face any group of people, you are bound to either fit in or being different. The one who does fit in is also often the one being called "normal" where as the other one is "weird". Technically, for yourself to feel good, you would need to be in the normal category.
In an idealized world, the only opinion one should care about, is oneself's. This is somehow impossible excepted if you are a hermit which is more and more difficult to be seing that the population of the world is growing exponentially.
Coming to this conclusion, which has been pointed out to me by my better half: the survival of the fitest nowadays has nothing to do with being fit be rather with fiting in.
Therefore, to be the happiest version of yourself is now to find a group of people within whom you have to proceed to the smallest modification possible to fit in and if you are lucky, you might even find a person who is willing to be with or around you without you having to change one single thing.
To write this little blog post, I thought I needed music.
It just so happens that I do happen to be a writer; whenever I have the time. If you actually think about it, for a second, taking two full hours for yourself perday is quite natural and helps your balance spiritual, mental and even physical.
Therefore, I came to the conclusion that there was no way I couldn't find time to write my blogposts every day of the week. However, another problem appeared.
I normally used to write well only when i was subject to fairly strong feelings and mostly when I happened to be sad. Nothing terrible within that fact, but you do understand that can become a problem if my goal is to write every single day and that I like to be overall happy.
Luckly, I have found somewhat of a decoy for my brain to get into writing once again: Mozart.
Let us say, though my love for Mozart is quite enormous, that some other music can serve the same purpose but he has most power over my mental.
So my points are that:
- It is too expensive compared to other products serving the exact same purpose but the price comes with the name.
- I am not a big fan of the over-siliconed texture of the eye cream.
- The serum is doing a good job.
- It might be good to get the serum if you x=want to treat yourself but pick another eye cream.
Sitting on a bench close to la Concorde, I just took the time to write this new chapter for my blog. Many other bloggers I enjoy to read write that they take the time and liberty to allow themselves a break from writing. The truth is I was never one for commitement when it comes to writing. There is no real rhyme or reason to it. I am fine with my video schedule; I even find it to be a healthy routine.
Writing is something I love and though, it takes me forever to come back here, I did.
the time is now and that is why I took my pencil out of its case.
My favourite Concealer so far is the one coming in stick form from Rimmel. Actually, when it comes to old faithfuls for my face and foundation, Rimmel is rather up there. However, seeing that this specific concealer from Sephora reminded me a lot of the Touche éclat by Yves Saint Laurent, I decided to give it a shot.
I picked up their lightest shade. It comes in this twisty tube form which is actually rather clean. You can either apply it directly onto your skin or onto your hand and use a buffying brush or a beauty blender to apply it to your face.
It blends well into your skin however I have found, though I did powder it that it really went into my undereye wrinkle though I didn't put that much on. To fix it, I put my Stay Matte powder on after having removed whatever matter had set into my wrinkles.
Overall, though it looks illuminazing and very nice right after applying make up, I am going back to my old concealer or I will be very careful when applying it and of the effects it gives throughout the day.
The story of a cute bear lost in London... Simple, cute and efficient. Somehow when you lay out the settings, characters and the story, the chances of it being the biggest flop in history of flops was rather high. However, it's not and instead it is a very lovely story, well maid and genuily funny. I realise that you might not be directly attracted to this movie; the matter of fact is I personnaly wasn't but it is besides the point. This is a story a little bit out of time and out of this world. Once, again after Winnie The Pooh, here is a bear with a "big" voice and a real back story.
I would have loved to watch this movie around Christmas time... As a french person, as I was watching, I discovered the story as well, which was very rewarding.
When I discovered this one, I had to try it. First, it goes along my interest for natural "stuff" out there. The price is along the ones of other not so natural drinks. It didn't especiqlly choke me at least. There are several available but when it comes to new things when citrus is an option; it always is what I go for.
This drink is very simply a lemonade, nothing more, nothing less. It was interesting to find for the mere interest of the name which was so close to my skywear and jewlery shop name.
I don't have mush to say about this publication except that it is lovely and written as an actual diary. If you are ever in search of inspiration and activities with kids, look no further. This magazine has very little ads in it if any and articles about things gathered over the internet and cute places. This month's article about handmade Teddy Bear and another about Rembrandt were really interesting. If you enjoy going through blogs and loveliness after long days of work and not always of fun, this magazine might be for you. Especially if you don't want a magazine to tell you that you should relax the way many seem to want us to lately.
This one isn't paternizing but, if I had to choose any adjective to qualify it, it would be: simple.
As you know from some of my videos and lately from my Weekly Vlogs,
I love hot drinks.
For me, it isn't just for the winter but all year round.
These two I mention today are really lovely and I actually just finished the chocolate;
The tea is my second pot.
This chocolate was a little treat right after Christmas to not let the season die and to fight back the cold which installed itself throughout the months of January and February in Paris.
It is very nice but now that I finished it I place a vanilla stick in it and some poulain cocoa powder that my grandmother use to buy for us in it. It taste a little better if I may say so myself and the memory joining the drink is even so sweeter that I like it better.
For a tea to be repurchased by me means
either that it is really cheap and that way I don't feel guilty drinking my four to five cups a day (along my water and coffee)
or that it really tastes so freaking good.
More than simply be good, this tea happens to smell incredidle. the flowers and fruity notes in it come from the Jardin de La Reine from Versailles which is why it is called Thé Marie-Antoinette. I am not especially a black person but this one is fabulous.
It is a great color: lime green. It stays on for a fair amount of days: I had it on for four days intact though I cook a lot, do the dishes and work with kids. And it is perfect for upcoming Saint Paddy's!
The purple really took 3 coats to look "good". The green remind me of their Pirates Of The Carribean collection. The red is a fun cool toned bright red. And the pink is a perfect baby pink, a little too chalk like for me.
When I write on this blog about yoga, herbal teas and relaxation, it is more or less in a self help manner than anything. You might think it is ironical that a person who writes on how-to feel good and relax is actually stressed out all of the time but I just find it to be a necessary good.
I don't know if I am suffering of any particular afflection. It would seem nowadays that we all do. I feel it might simply be because we don't have time to be melancholic. While browsing on Pinterest, I found a few "recipes" for homemade balm to sooth headaches. 3Do you believe it works at all?" is the most asked question. My friend who see me reading and playing around with essential oils, for the main part, very sceptical. I have no way to explain f it does work or not.
Though I have been bred with anti-biotics and I think you sometimes need chimical medecine when a strong illness strikes. I do enjoy the thought of a more natural and herbal medecine.
The best medecine is warmth, rest and water. As I tend to be very sensible to fragrances, I have witnessed that, on me at least, essential oils do work quite beneficially.
Inspired by my Badger's Balms, I am right now working on formulas with shea butter and soy wax, As soon as I am happy with what I created I will give you the recipes here or through a video.
I noticed a big come back of zips on bags and clothes in general. Onto a classic and simple item, like a T-Shirt, I don't say. However, I feel they are a particularly bad idea as a detail or a closing feature. If you ever wore any delicate with a zipped up item, you will know what I mean by this. It gets caught onto everything and as a way of clothing detailing, I highly doubt of its sturdiness. When you get a pencil case or a wallet with zips, you are perfectly aware of the fact that it will get stuck or break at one point. Why, then, would you pay a fair amount of money for a coat with a zip when you know there is nothing like buttons? I do get that my point might be a little odd but I saw a very elegant and put together woman in the metro and her warm woolen coat (which was one of these very popular asymetrical ones) was closing with a zipper. The same with her pockets. I do get that id adds a little classy bling but I am still puzzled by its longevity and friendliness in regard to the rest of our clothes.
For the overall of 2 years of blogging and 5 years of interest in beauty, I managed to realize the several issues about the tidious and large amount of makeup most beauty gurus use and apply onto their faces.
Though I did stress out several times, that my mother was a big fan of the layering method before it was all the rage. some beauty products are the ones used by every woman going to work and having to look sharp. They are easily kept on well all day. But there are not a million products which make your face fantastic the way Youtubers and Bloggers tell you.
The things you will NEED for a worry free make up :
A BB cream
Optional: Powder to keep the skin from going oily
Two Nude Eyeshadows (one light, one dark)
A Nude Lipstick or a Gloss
I didn't put any mascara in there because I am still to find a mascara which does hold on and doesn't transfer or leak throughout the day; I apply it at 8 in the morning and it has to stay put until 9 at night, when I make it back home.
Once in a while, you go to the movies and you see something that somehow speaks to you. Laggies is not the best movie which was ever made. However, it treats of something that I find important to touch on. Throughout our youth, we feel and we are maid to feel that our lives are going to change. We are going to be grown-ups and we will know what we want and who we are.
I am certain that a category of people know exactly where they come from and what they want. However, that personnality trait didn't come over night. These people were just organised people to start with. These people used to rule over the playground and run their own little group. When i saw Laggies, the first thing which poped into my mind was Garden State. A story about people lost in their minds and in their lives.
The thing about Laggies is mainly that we are always surrounded by the same people and it is with changing those surroundings that we evolved. That is what is important. Growing up is one thing but what is true and almost tangeable is evolution, change and, of course, true friends who are not waiting anything from you and who do not expect anything but your love and who give you support.
