FASHION: Getting wined up !!!!!!

Best classy color ever. Here is a little selection throughout the shops and the internet of nice wine pieces.
But let's be honest a second here, not the best tint for summer.
So, let's rejoys because Fall is in.
Wines, along with dark forest greens, greyish blues and dark plums are very rich colors, warm to look at. When the Fall months are coming, it is very cold at times and you need these reassuring tints.
For the comment section: Which is your "Fall" color?

BEAUTY: Sephora New Brow Pencil

I went to Sephora the other day and I saw this little one in a taupy shade.
There is no redish tone whatsoever in this products which is really nice for brows.
I use it both to define my brows and to draw more brows where needed.
I like the fact that it twists but the brush could be less hard.

As I am not going to go for the Audrey Hepburn look,
it is nice to just make them more wearable.

ENTERTAIN: Begin Again

Welcome to my chick flick addiction again.
When I first saw this movie's trailer I was just so happy. For a girl of my generation, having Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley in the same movie is one of the best things that could have happened.
In Begin Again, a young song writer (Keira Knightley) meets an old school producer with a major drinking problem and a daughter and wife he does not really know how to deal with.
Keira Knightley really has a very nice Norah Jones like type of voice and Mark Ruffalo's character has a passion which really makes us forget his obvious flaws. This is a feel good movie and I would highly recommend it to anybody, especially women.

I went to Le Baltard this week.
I cannot tell you about the food they serve but I can tell you
it is the right place where to sit down for a créme and reading the journal
or for an late afternoon drink with friends.

BEAUTY: Pulp Fiction Collection by Urban Decay

Whilst waiting for the Rocky Horror Picture Show collection by m.a.c., I fell in love with Pulp Fiction collection by Urban Decay.
One word to describe it:
This palette is perfect for a pin up look, a smoky or a nude eye.
Classic cold red, very crime and film noir inspired.
And a metallic shade to add some rock'n'roll to the collection.

MOVIE NIGHT! Not Another Happy Ending

I really liked this movie and, to be honest, already watched around 6 times since I got it.
Warning though! It is a major chick flick!
It is not the best cinematography and looks like marshmallow.
The characters seem to be coming straight of the book
but it contributes a lot to the movie's atmosphere.

FOOD: Praline Rose

Once more, I am writing about a thing I used to love when I was a little girl an that is an absolute classic by french standards. It is essentially red sugar covered almonds.

BLOG: I talk to myself

Most random post ever?
What do you think?
That is my limit. I know very well that I am alone. I know very well that no one won't ever answer but... I wanted to write about this today because I am fairly certain that I am not the only person talking to herself.

Sometimes, you need to be sure of things or just put yourself together.

The more stressed out I am the more I speak out load.
In  the end, I do it mostly to calm down and have everything laid out in front of me.

Do you talk to yourself?

SELECTION: Miss Patina

As I already said, this month of september is all about nice shirts and cute patterns. How to look nicely dressed without looking like a barrister or somebody on Wall Street.
I just discovered Miss Patina though Pinterest and I really feels like this brand is amazing.
The clothes are cute and though the inspiration is oldish, some little twists make them completely wearable today.

FRAGRANCE: Classique Intense by Jean-Paul Gaultier

I already talked to you about Gaultier many times. His way of making perfumes works for me and he also tends to create fragrances which are quite classic.White flowers in the air. I would say this perfume is very much for women wh like holidays scent though the vanilla and patchouli in the base notes make it fairly warm.
The issue I havs had with wearing Classique ( the original fragrance) was that it is a scent made for mature women. It is entirely my own opinion and you should not feel offended if you are young and wearing this perfume. I am more of a bubbly and sweet fragrances oriented woman.
I would recommend this scent because it is timeless. Just the same, you can wear it anytime of the year because of the monoi and vanilla. One being an obvious summer scent and the other being very present around Christmas time.

There are thousands of magazines around and plenty of variety. However, when you like books and feel like reading informative articles, TLS is what you want.
I don't feel especially inclined to read the Times itself. To be honest, I probably read it no more than ten times in my life. On the other hand, the Literary Supplement, I always pick up with excitement.
More than learning things on a subject, it also revives knowledge you already have. It reassures you in your observations on which or which author or book. Another obvious side effect of reading TLS and, I think, its goal, is for us to read the books and works mentionned in the articles.
The articles, in general, are written and articulated around studies led on several works treating the same subject. This way, the articles tend to be very "fleshy" and full of ressources. The titles of the books refered to are all listed in the middle section of the article and stipulated with the title of the article in the glossary.
This way, thrugh this magazine, I took back my Oscar Wilde's works and biographies as an extensif article was written about the Duchess of Padua in the TLS of a few weeks ago.
If you enjoy british literature and actually many other, as TLS is far from being exclusif, do pick one up one day. It is just as good as buying a book of novellas.

BLOG: Rat Des Villes

This is how I got to bump onto The Sugarhill Boutique Website.
Once more, this style is really assimilated to students
and kindergarden teacher in my mind set.

BEAUTY: Looking Sharp

Ond of the basis to look sharp at all times is to find your own style and stay classy. If, like me,you like colors, wearing fancy black and white or blue and beige suits and co-ordinates is not going to satisfy you. However, obviously, you might not get the choice but if you just have to look like you are paying attention to what you are wearing. There is also make up. The best way to look professional is a good manucure. When you work in an office, you will probably be writing a lot or typing on a keyborad for the most part of your day. If you are sure of yourself, you can go for the bold red lip and black liner. If, on the other hand, the red lip is not appliable every half  hour and that you are not the best at liner, or just that it would take you far too much time in the morning to apply it: go for nude. A nice nude shade on the lid, a little darker in the crease and mascara for the eyes. For the lips, a rosy toned lipstick or a dusky mat pink shade. For the face, CC than BB creams and you are good to go. When you wnat it to stay really put for the day, powder up with a universal or translucend powder.

TV: The New Doctor

Doctor Who. As anybody even remotely geeky, I like this TV show and I admit I am more into the new series than the old ones.
Therefore I was eager to know what the new doctor was going to be like.
I enjoy the new look he has already.
He looks like a magician in the classic sense and
he really goes for the friend and extraterrestrial type of doctor.

BLOG: Where You Are From

One of the first thing you learn when you start to work is that there is an entire world out there of people who did not study and who in time, managed to go higher than you shall ever be.
Today's reflection is on education.

I was talking with a bunch of friends and the subject was roaming around how we were as kids at school, high school and college... I did not precise where I was coming from but somehow the teachers and professors present knew very fast. As I already said I not the type of person to talk about politics. But somehow, the subject in hand is going to make me talk about it. We are all different hen it comes to education. We mostly all start by learning from the books. Some of us enjoy them and continue reading until they have to switch library as they finished all of the ones they can offer. The others need to be interested. Need a use behind the meaning.

I should not say one is brighter than the other but what is certain is that one is going to get a job and do things in life faster than the other. As I took the path of the books, I obviously feel like I should have done otherwise. You tell me in the comment section what you think is the way to go and why.
